Chelsea’s defensive struggles have forced a rethink at Stamford Bridge, and a Bournemouth defender has emerged as a prime summer target.

Chelsea this season has had a season with ups and downs, and their results and performances haven’t been stable. They started a new project recently under a new coach, Liam Rosenior, who came from Strasbourg.

He has had a decent start to his adventure with the Blues. But despite the change of the coach and the improvements that have happened, one problem remains the same for Chelsea. In defense, they haven’t been stable, and many goals that have cost the team points have come from individual and collective mistakes of the defenders.

For this reason, the club is already making plans for the upcoming transfer market this summer in order to find the right objectives for fixing this problem. The Blues were also looking actively in the January transfer market for a defender, but for one reason or another, they didn’t manage to sign a central defender.

For the summer transfer market, Chelsea is looking in the Premier League to find their new defender. On top of their list is the defender of Bournemouth, Marcos Senesi. The 28-year-old defender is an experienced defender and has been part of Bournemouth since 2022.

Since he arrived at Bournemouth, Senesi has played until now 116 matches with 9 goals scored and 7 assists given. Marcos is a strong defender, technical, and knows how to play with the ball. His contract with Bournemouth expires this summer.

This makes it easier to arrive at the Argentine defender, as he can arrive as a free transfer. Chelsea has had a policy of buying and investing in young players, but this time, they may change their policy a little bit in order to get an experienced defender who knows the Premier League very well and doesn’t need time to adapt to the league and England. In order to get his services, Chelsea is not alone because other teams from the Premier League are interested in him as Crystal Palace, Everton, and Brighton.
