It would be an understatement to say that Chelsea fans have not been satisfied with the club's transfer business in recent times. In many ways, it has felt like they have made moves that have taken the team sideways, or at times, backwards.
Joao Pedro is the only summer signing who has had a major impact on the team, and even the Brazilian has had his ups and downs since moving to Chelsea. The likes of Liam Delap, Alejandro Garnacho, Jamie Gittens and Jorrel Hato are yet to impress. Facundo Buonanotte was brought in on a confusing loan deal, after moves for Xavi Simons and Fermin Lopez failed to materialise, and the Argentine has already departed.
Fans would have been hoping for new manager Liam Rosenior to be backed in the winter window, but that did not happen. Jeremy Jacquet ended up signing with Liverpool, and all Chelsea could do was call back Mamadou Sarr from Strasbourg.
Unsurprisingly, frustrations are starting to grow amongst the fanbase with the ownership and the sporting directors. Hopefully, they will make some positive moves next summer, especially if Rosenior is able to guide them to a positive end to the season.
Morgan Rogers is a high-profile name they have been linked with for some time now. And now, Fabrizio Romano has dropped an update on the situation.
Romano was speaking on his YouTube regarding the Aston Villa player and said that despite signing a contract extension, there will be movement again when it comes to Rogers. The Italian journalist confirmed that Chelsea are still tracking him. For Tottenham Hotspur, he is a dream target.
It is not hard to see why Chelsea might be interested in Rogers. He is capable of playing both on the wing and as a number 10. And after a slow start to the season, he has found his form again, and has 10 goals and seven assists to his name in 35 games.
It would be a mistake to overlook the connection with Palmer either. The Chelsea number 10 is rumoured to be unhappy at Stamford Bridge. If that is the case, why not sign one of his best friends in football?
