Chelsea’s striker problem refuses to disappear. With summer approaching and contracts expiring, the Blues are quietly lining up a Serie A solution who could finally give them the physical, reliable No.9 they’ve been missing.

Chelsea has had a season of ups and downs until now, combining great results and fantastic performances with poor results and disappointing performances. In recent times, they also changed their coach and passed from Maresca to Rosenior.

The new coach is trying to implement his playing philosophy into the team and get to know the players as well as possible. In the January transfer market, the club has not been active, but this doesn’t mean that they aren’t preparing plans for the upcoming transfer market in the summer.

Chelsea has invested heavily in the last couple of years in buying young and talented players in order to boost the team more and make them more competitive, and the club is looking for different roles for the team this summer. One role that they are interested in buying a new player for is the position of the striker, or the so-called number 9.

Chelsea Track Serie A Goal Machine

In the last couple of years, all the players that the club has had for that role have not had the productivity and performances that the fans and the club have expected. This has also happened this season, where the 2 new number 9s that Chelsea bought, Delap and Pedro, have had a difficult season with ups and downs and have not had the impact that the club expected from them.

For this reason, the Blues are looking for a new number 9 this summer for the team. An option that the club is looking for for this position is the striker of Juventus, Dusan Vlahovic. He is a real number 9, very strong physically and very good in aerial duels. Also, he has demonstrated that he can handle the pressure of playing for an important team and being a leader.

Another reason that makes the Juventus striker a very good option is the fact that his contract expires this summer and he can came in London for free. So this means that the club can save a huge amount of money from his arrival. Summer is nearby and we need to wait and see if the Serbian striker will be the new number 9 of Chelsea next season or the club will search for another opportunity.
