Nottingham Forest are searching for solutions after a chaotic season and have identified Chelsea’s rising goalkeeper Mike Penders as a key target. The Belgian impressed on loan at Strasbourg, but will Chelsea sell or give their young star a chance at Stamford Bridge?

Nottingham Forest had a great season last term, where they managed to qualify for European competitions this season after many years of not achieving this great result. Under Nuno Espirito Santo the club built a strong team, and they achieved very good results with very good performances.

The club started this season with the goal of doing well in the Europa League and continuing in the Premier League with strong results and performances. But this season things started badly and have continued even worse.

The club invested in the summer transfer market and got several players in different positions. They started the season under Espirito Santo, but due to some problems with the manager, they changed it to Postecoglou. Also, with Ange the things went badly, and the directors of the club decided to change the coach again and hired Dyche as their new manager. With the new coach still the results and performances didn’t change in a better way, so the club fired the third coach of the season and decided to hire Pereira as the fourth coach of the club for this season.

The club is fighting to stay in the Premier League. On the other side, the club is making plans for the upcoming summer transfer market. They intend to invest heavily in the summer transfer market with the only goal of not experiencing the difficulties of this season.

One area where Nottingham Forest has had a lot of problems this season has been the goal. Both goalkeepers of the team this season have had a lot of difficulties, and their performances haven’t been good, which has cost the team a lot of points.

Based on this reason, the club is looking at different keepers inside and outside the Premier League in order to find the right profile for the team.  One profile that is attracting a lot of interest for Forest is the keeper of Chelsea Mike Penders.

Penders is a goalkeeper who is owned by Chelsea, but this season he has been playing on loan at Strasbourg in France. The 20-year-old keeper has been a key element of the French team this season, and his performances have attracted the interest of different important teams in Europe. Penders is a young keeper but with a lot of talent, and already he is a good and very promising goalkeeper.

This season with the French team, Mike has played a total of 35 matches in all the competitions with 41 goals conceded and 9 clean sheets. His loan with Strasbourg expires this summer, and he will return to England at Chelsea, which is the owner of the player. The current coach of Chelsea Rosenior knows very well the abilities of the Belgian keeper because Liam worked with him in the first part of the season, when they were both at Strasbourg.

Forest sees the Belgian keeper as a young goalkeeper who has already shown his qualities and as an investment for today, but also for the future. Nottingham Forest are ready to start negotiations with Chelsea in order to secure the services of the young keeper, but it remains to be seen if Chelsea will let him go or Rosenior will give Penders a chance to show himself at the Blues.
