Casemiro's stellar display against Fulham, including a goal and game-changing plays, earns him Premier League Player of the Matchweek.

On Sunday afternoon, Manchester United made it three wins out of three to begin the Michael Carrick era with a rollercoaster 3-2 win over an impressive Fulham side at Old Trafford.

United had taken a 2-0 lead, only to be pegged back by a Raul Jimenez penalty and a sublime curling effort from Kevin, but substitute Benjamin Sesko scored the winner with a fantastic turn and finish, to make it four goals in his last 205 minutes of football, and secure all three points.

There were several top individual performances, all over the pitch. Senne Lammens made four saves to make sure of the points, whilst Kobbie Mainoo continues to seriously impress since being reintegrated into the team under Carrick.

The skipper Bruno Fernandes added a further two assists to make it 12 in the Premier League. He also leads the league for big chances created, with 16, so he should have even more, in theory.

Meanwhile, Matheus Cunha marked his return to the starting XI with a ferocious finish around 10 minutes into the second half - clearly a man full of confidence after his winning goal at The Emirates last week.

However, one player stood out above the rest. Indeed, Casemiro once again rolled back the years. After 19 minutes, he headed home a Fernandes free-kick, before playing a scrumptious no look through ball to Cunha for the second goal.

Not only that, but the 33-year old also made three clearances, three recoveries, won 5/7 ground duels, and 2/2 aerial duels. He was subbed off after 79 minutes. United had not conceded by that point, yet conceded twice in the little time after that, showing just how crucial he is to this team, even at his age.

His performance has not gone unnoticed, with the Brazilian being awarded Premier League Player of the Matchweek award for match day 24 of the current campaign. Well deserved, you have to say.

This all just goes to show how important it will be to replace the Brazilian this summer, particularly with the club getting any transfer fee for him. This is one of the best defensive midfielders of his generation, who has been producing for many years.

So, it will be far from easy to replace him. You don't envy the people tasked with replacing such a player, but also the person, with Casemiro clearly very popular and respected within the United dressing room.
