Casemiro, the 33-year-old Brazilian midfielder and former Real Madrid player, announced he will leave Manchester United this summer.
The Brazilian Casemiro will leave Manchester United at the end of the season when his contract with the English club ends. The midfielder, 33, arrived at United in 2022 from Real Madrid for about 80 million euros. Since then, he has played in 146 matches and won one title, the FA Cup under Erik Ten Hag.
“I will carry United with me all my life. It is not time to say goodbye, there are still many memories to create during the following four months. We have to keep fighting all together, my complete focus, as always, is on giving everything for the club to succeed,” Casemiro said in his farewell letter to the club.
During the three and a half seasons that Casemiro has been at Old Trafford, he has had many good moments and some bad ones, but he has managed to vindicate himself and has almost always been a regular in the lineups of the coaches who have passed through the club.
However, his high contract, one of the biggest at the club, prevented a renewal from being possible. Last Saturday in the Manchester derby, which United won 2-0, the Brazilian was chosen man of the match.
Carlos Henrique Casemiro played for Manchester United from August 2022 until the 2025-2026 season. In that period, he played 146 official matches with the club in all competitions and scored 21 goals.
During his time at Old Trafford, Casemiro contributed in competitions such as the Premier League, the FA Cup, the League Cup, and European competitions. His presence contributed to different phases of tournaments, and he participated in full league campaigns and national cups.
In his trophy cabinet with Manchester United, Casemiro obtained the League Cup (Carabao Cup) in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024.
Saudi Arabia: This is the most rumored option. Several Saudi Pro League clubs, backed by the Sovereign Fund, have shown strong interest and made him multimillion-dollar offers in the past.
Continue in Europe: Sources close to ESPN suggest that the Brazilian is interested in continuing to play in one of Europe’s top five leagues if a suitable opportunity arises.
United States (MLS): It has been reported that the MLS is seen as a very probable destination for Casemiro by some sources, as his contract nears its end.
Return to "Campeonato Brasileiro de Futebol": Although not a primary rumor, a return to his home country at some point in his career is a possibility, although he would probably prefer to stay in leagues with greater visibility ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
