While Manchester United picked up Benjamin Sesko to help them stay strong on the pitch, could he run into some issues during Premier League play? One former Man Utd star believes this could actually happen.
Louis Saha, who played for four seasons at Man Utd between 2004-08, believes that Sesko is going to struggle until the team does some work to strengthen its midfield.
"He’s ready to join," Saha said while making an appearance on The Athletic FC Podcast on Wednesday, Sept. 3, according to Jessica Hopkins of The Athletic. "Physically he’s not going to have a huge amount of things to do. Tactically, I think is going to be the challenge because the team is in transition. The manager has to figure out how to play."
Sesko became part of the Man Utd club after coming over from RB Leipzig in August for €76.5million (£66.4m; $89.1m) plus €8.5m in add-ons.

🗣️ Benjamin Sesko: "English football is the highest level in the world of football. The level of the matches is certainly much higher than German Football. The players & teammates are also at a higher level. I wanted to move to England and, luckily, my wish came true"
"The problems identified over the last three or four years (at United) is having the responsibility as a number nine or as a forward when you’re young," Saha said. "You’re still learning, you’re making mistakes. You don’t how to connect with the players as much as maybe Bruno Fernandes, as much as (Zlatan) Ibrahimovic before, or players like Andy Cole."
In the summer transfer window period, Man Utd wanted to get a solid midfielder to add to their arsenal of players. But that really didn't get done. The club reportedly looked at Brighton’s Carlos Baleba as a possible addition, yet that didn't pan out.
Saha said that Sesko has a lot of solid attributes to add to Man Utd, including his size and ability to put the ball into the net. He added that he's "very confident" that Sesko will get scoring chances with Man Utd.
"But to get us where we want, I don’t think that’s going to be on him," Saha said. "Those two playmakers, (Matheus) Cunha and (Bryan) Mbeumo, will have to kick on very soon, (otherwise) you will see Sesko struggling as well."
