Premier League Matchday 27 concluded with Manchester United battling hard but ultimately taking all three points against Everton, thanks to a solitary goal from Benjamin Sesko, propelling them into the Champions League places with 48 points, surpassing Chelsea.
Manchester United would catapult themselves ahead in the early stages of the match; in the 3rd minute, Pickford had a great save, not once but twice, after the point-blank double shot from Cunha that loomed toward the home team's goal.
In the 19th minute, another warning from the visitors would put Everton on alert following a good collective action. Bruno finished with a precise tackle; however, Tarkowski arrived to clear the ball. Minutes later, a heavy collision between Barry and Mainoo stopped play.
Everton would have their chance with a good approach from Keane, who, with a long pass, found Ndiaye, but the Senegalese player would end up not controlling the ball and missed a clear opportunity. In the 36th minute, Mbeumo made himself felt with a long-range shot that caused no danger.
Before half-time, the hosts would continue to lurk, but Bruno Fernandes prevented the approach to the goal with a notable effort in the defensive zone by blocking Garner to deflect a cross that threatened to open the scoring, and with that play, they would go into the break.
For the second half, Manchester United would continue to insist. In the 54th minute, Casemiro hung a cross from the right for Mbeumo, who rose, but the finish ended up very poor, with Cunha lamenting as he savored the chance at the far post.
In the 66th minute, Cunha, who was looking for his goal, had a one-on-one, but, to his misfortune, he slipped, and the action remained just another sigh for the visiting fans; however, they would have minutes of play remaining that would soon bring their reward on the opponent's goal.
It would not be until the 72nd minute that the scoreboard would open, on the part of Manchester United, after a great counterattack play from their own half of the field that Mbeumo took to the edge of the area to deliver an exquisite service to Benjamin Sesko, who simply pushed the ball in.
