The Premier League's closing day left great moments in Sunday's action, headlined by Manchester United, a team that continues to rack up points and is beginning to stalk the European positions in the standings, now after defeating Fulham at Old Trafford.
Manchester's cold nights are beginning to reclaim their mystique. After a run of important victories against Manchester City and Arsenal, the Red Devils returned home with winning momentum, which was respected thanks to an agonizing goal by Sesko.
The home team made itself seen from the first minutes, taking possession and seeking depth on the field, as United gradually stalked Fulham. The net moved for the home side at just the 16th minute, when a set piece from Bruno Fernandes reached Casemiro, who headed in the opener.
The action did not intensify significantly until the second half, when the game opened up in midfield, and the visiting team tried to get hold of the ball, but without much success.
The United side, which did not want to let slip the chance to get into a Champions League spot, broke through again in the 55th minute, when once again Casemiro did his thing and sent a ball into the gap in the defense; it was controlled by Matheus Cunha, who put it in with his right foot for 2-0.
When the action seemed to have little more to offer, the important man appeared, Raul Jimenez, who, after creating some space, entered the United area and went one-on-one with the goalkeeper, Senne Lammens, but before shooting, Harry Maguire brought him down, causing a penalty.
True to his style, the Mexican took a long run-up and from eleven yards out scored the goal that cut the deficit and gave Fulham hope, in addition to marking the player's 200th professional goal scored.
The score saw 2-2 in stoppage time, when Kevin charged down the edge of the six-yard box and unleashed a right-footed shot that slipped into the left corner of the United goal, silencing the entire stadium.
When it seemed the net would not move again, the final minutes once more gave people something to talk about, as United managed to score the third and win thanks to a rocket from Benjamin Sesko in the fourth minute of added time, who, with his right foot, brought the mythical 'Theatre of Dreams' back to its feet.
