On the occasion of Matchday 17 of Ligue 1 2025/26, Paris Saint-Germain hosted Paris FC at Parc des Princes this Sunday, and the Parisian derby went Rouge et Bleu.
Desire Doue opened the scoring late in the first half, and everything seemed to be going well for PSG before a generous penalty was given to the visitors. After being tied, PSG immediately regained the lead through Ousmane Dembele and then managed its advantage until the end, starting 2026 without overexertion.
PSG lineup vs. Paris FC: Chevalier; Zaire-Emery, Zabarnyi (Marquinhos, 70'), Pacho, Nuno Mendes (Hernandez, 80'); Joao Neves, Vitinha (c), Ruiz; Doue (Barcola, 70'), Dembele (Ramos, 70'), Mayulu (Nsoki, 83').
Paris FC lineup vs. PSG: Trapp; Sangui, Mbow, Otavio, Kolodziejczak, De Smet (Ollila, 89'); Camara (Dao, 89'), M. Lopez; Ikone (Cafaro, 68'), Geubbels (J. Lopez, 89'), Gory (Marchetti, 77').
PFC played long and surrendered the ball in the 1st minute. A good recovery by Mayulu allowed Nuno Mendes to get into a position to get down the wing and win the first corner, but it came to nothing (2').
This was followed by the first shot, via Vitinha from 20 meters, which went just wide of the top corner (3'). PFC responded with a quick attack that turned into a corner, easily cleared (4'). Gradually, Paris set its game and approached the goal, pinning PFC back (7').
A long Parisian sequence ended with a cross from Nuno Mendes, Trapp caught it, but Zaire-Emery collided with him late (9'). The game was stopped, the German was dazed, then got up (11').
The match was balanced, and PSG tried from the wings, but Paris FC defended in a block and minimized spaces, forcing Mendes to shoot from distance, and very wide (16').
Dembele was found through the middle. He turned around the defender, then accelerated. He played a perfect pass to Neves, who then attempted a layoff rather than shooting from a good position (19'). Paris SG tried to play as high as possible, and Doue produced a little technical gem at the edge of the box but did not get the penalty he hoped for (25').
But on the next action, the same Desire Doue managed a double touch inside the box and was brought down by the fallen defender's arm (26'). Penalty (26')! It was corrected to a free-kick, and Nuno Mendes shot hard into the wall (29').
PSG continued to push, and Dembele managed to find Mayulu in a tight space inside the box. The winger controlled and then shot hard with his left foot at a narrow angle. Trapp saved (32'). Good Parisian pressing paid off, and Dembele went towards the goal. He laid it off as best he could to Ruiz, who shot without being able to get power either, and Trapp caught it easily (36').
While Nuno Mendes made a monstrous defensive recovery on Ikone, Doue went forward again and sent a curling right-footed shot that lacked precision (40'). Found through the middle, Dembele played a superb pass to Mayulu, but he missed his shot and was also hit in the follow-through (42').
The Parc des Princes residents continued to push to open the scoring before the break, multiplying corners that came to nothing (44'). It worked! Vitinha recovered a ball 45 meters from the goal and immediately passed to Ruiz. The Spaniard advanced and obviously saw Doue alone on the left side. The Frenchman advanced and beat Trapp (1-0, 45')!
PSG hurt them again immediately after with a cross-shot from Doue, poorly saved by Trapp; neither Ruiz nor Zabarnyi could follow up from six meters, and the subsequent shot from Nuno Mendes was just over (45+2'). Doue was unstoppable and sent in a good cross, but Pacho's header was off target (45+3'). At halftime, PSG was very logically ahead on the scoreboard, and could have even scored more.
The match resumed without changes but with Mayulu now playing centrally. A dramatic twist after a few minutes; Gory was played in behind the defense, Zabarnyi seemed to recover on him cleanly, but the referee whistled for a barely believable penalty (49')! VAR confirmed the foul, though hardly obvious... Chevalier went the right way, but Geubbels' shot was too powerful (1-1, 51').
PSG immediately regained the lead through Ousmane Dembele: Zaire-Emery was played in by Neves on the right side, he carried the ball up and served Dembele wide, he dribbled past De Smet inside, then shot, it was deflected and fooled Trapp (2-1, 53').
The game was still in PSG's favor now, but PFC had gained confidence and was dangerous on counters, but Pacho was vigilant (63'). Ruiz sent Mendes towards the goal, and the Portuguese shot hard at a narrow angle. Trapp saved (67'). On the following corner, Doue found Pacho, who missed the target from a few meters out (68').
While PSG had taken off Doue, Dembele, and Zabarnyi for Barcola, Ramos, and Marquinhos, it was the first substitute who went in behind and crossed back, but no one came to finish (73'). PFC seemed on the edge but managed to cross; it was deflected, and Chevalier cleared in two stages. Marchetti then tested him with a shot without power (77').
PSG still had as much of the ball but struggled to really create chances or get close to the opponent's goal (86'). Perfectly served on the left side, Barcola again missed his pull-back cross, and PFC could therefore clear (90'). PFC got down the wing one last time, and Lopez crossed, but Marquinhos cut it out very well (95'). The end of the game was choppy with chants that made the referee stop the match, but it was indeed PSG that won this derby in the end (98').
