Fabian Ruiz is reportedly eyeing a return to Spain. The PSG star openly desires a reunion with his formative club.
Fabian Ruiz is reportedly willing to leave Paris Saint-Germain to return to Spain.
Ruiz, 29, has never hidden his connection to Real Betis Balompié. The PSG midfielder still holds very close the club where he was formed and to which he would like to return at some point in his career, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.
The player native to Los Palacios is currently going through an important stage in his professional career, as he continues to compete at the highest level in Europe while remaining a relevant figure in Spanish soccer.
"However, his Betis identity remains intact. Throughout recent years, he has publicly reiterated his desire to return someday to Heliopolis to once again wear the green-and-white shirt in LaLiga," the cited outlet noted.
Ruiz represents one of the great recent emblems of the Real Betis youth academy. His soccer growth began precisely at the Seville club, where he made the jump to professional soccer.
During his time with the first team, he left a significant mark thanks to his technical quality, vision, and ability to dominate the center of the field. That performance allowed him to begin an international career that first took him to Italy and later to PSG, where he was crowned UEFA Champions League winner.
Despite his growth outside Spain, the midfielder apparently has never stopped remembering his origins in LaLiga.
The player's entourage has confirmed that Ruiz is seriously considering returning to Real Betis Balompié. His agent recently explained that the player maintains that desire.
"What is most striking is that the midfielder does not want to return when he is in the final stretch of his career," wrote Fichajes' Hector Andreu. "According to his entourage, Fabian Ruiz intends to return to Real Betis at a time when he can still contribute competitive performance to the team."
Currently, Ruiz continues to defend the colors of PSG, one of the most powerful clubs in European soccer. His time with the Parisian team has allowed him to compete at the highest level and consolidate himself as a complete central midfielder on the international scene.
At PSG, Luis Enrique values his ability to control the game's rhythm and his tactical intelligence on the field.
The midfielder has also expressed, on different occasions, his excitement about returning to LaLiga someday. During gatherings with the Spanish national team, Ruiz has openly acknowledged that he would like to end his career at the club where he grew up as a player.
