Paris Saint-Germain and Luis Enrique are blessed to have a squad full of talented youngsters who are giving their very best on the field whenever they have been called into action by their manager.
PSG's formidable squad depth has given them a certain edge against the other European powerhouses during the past couple of years, as the Parisians won a total of six trophies in 2025 alone credit to their recent victory in the Intercontinental Cup final, beating Flamengo in a penalty shootout.
Their hero in the tie-breaker, Matvey Safonov, is one of PSG's many examples of the availability of more than one capable player in each position, as the Russian goalkeeper saved four out of the five Flamengo spot kicks, which helped PSG win their first international trophy.
Although at the same time having too many talents in the squad could be a challenging task for any manager, as he would be able to field only 11 players during the game, which might upset the one who would be left out of the starting lineup.
As it seems, Bradley Barcola is feeling the same way lately, as rumours of his possible move to Liverpool are currently spreading like wildfire amidst the player's growing concerns regarding his future at the club.
Barcola, being 23 years old at this point, is reportedly looking to feature in the important games consistently as a starter, just like any other youngster at his age would, but Enrique is unlikely to start him ahead of Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia when they are fully fit, as a result the player is seemingly looking at other options.
According to various rumours, Liverpool are currently looking to replace their longtime icon, Mo Salah, with Barcola if the Egyptian decides on leaving the club at the end of the season.
But are the Parisians ready to let a player like Barcola leave sighting lack of game time as a reason? Most likely not! Luis Enrique has seemingly given the 23-year-old more minutes (1354 mins) this season than both Dembele and Doue combined (591+647=1238 mins), which completely dumps the basic idea of the move, as Barcola has featured in all of PSG's Champions League fixtures this season as a starter, unlike Doue and Dembele who were sidelined more than once this season due to injuries.
Finally, the idea of getting out of the shadows of the preferred PSG starters could be a reason for the Frenchman to leave his current club, as Salah's departure could further strengthen his case for a move in England.
