Lee Kang-in provided the assist on João Neves' winning goal for Paris Saint-Germain in its victory at Lyon on Sunday night. The South Korean playmaker celebrated his 100th appearance for the club before speaking his first public words in French.
PSG's first goalscorer of the 2025/2026 season and increasingly used by coach Luis Enrique in recent weeks due to numerous injuries, Lee was decisive again Sunday in Lyon, delivering a corner kick onto the head of João Neves in stoppage time.
Thanks to what he describes as a "much better mindset than the one I showed last season," the South Korean international is beginning to show promising form and is becoming an important player for the injury-riddled squad. Having arrived in Paris in the summer of 2023, the former Valencia and Mallorca player marked his 100th match for PSG across all competitions on Sunday in Lyon, recording 13 goals and 13 assists in that span.
Following a PSG tradition, Lee was presented with a commemorative medal after the victory over Lyon to mark the symbolic milestone by sporting director Luis Campos. The locker room then asked the South Korean to address the team in French, giving observers their first chance to hear him speak the language publicly.
"Thank you very much, everyone. I am very happy with you. And... we are going to win all the matches," he said with a broad smile before sharing an embrace with the Portuguese executive. Often described as publicly reserved, even within the club, Lee has never seemed more fulfilled since his arrival in Paris.
