Match Report:
Vitinha took the kickoff... and miskicked, giving up a throw-in deep in their own end! But Paris recovered immediately and began attacking, though without real rhythm (3rd). Mbaye was found on the left wing and delivered a good ball to Ramos in the box, who miscontrolled (3rd). The first shot came from the right by Mendes, deflected but caught by Diaw (4th). PSG had a huge chance for 1-0: Lee played a perfect pass into the box, Neves chested it down for a wide-open Ramos, who shot at Diaw and was flagged for a very unclear offside (7th)!
Le Havre tried to counter quickly, forcing Nuno Mendes to concede a corner, seeming to get hurt on the play despite no contact (11th). This turned into a good chance for Paris with Lee shooting from 20 meters, but Diaw held it well (12th). Le HAC had a massive opportunity to open the scoring as Kechta found himself alone against Chevalier, but he shot straight at the keeper, who stood firm on his line (14th)!
While Paris was attacking, a Le Havre player pushed Vitinha into Lee, and the two Parisians collided face-to-face, remaining on the ground (16th). Mbaye tried his luck from the left, but Diaw collected easily (19th). Zaire-Emery launched Mbaye perfectly; he cut inside and shot, but it was deflected for a corner (20th). On a counter, Lee misplaced his pass, but Sangante's back-pass was intercepted by Mbaye, though Lloris saved at the Senegalese forward's feet (25th)!
Soumare got past Beraldo on the left, crossed back for Ebonog, who seemed to handle the ball, but Chevalier saved on his line before Zaire-Emery cleared (26th)! From the resulting corner, Chevalier came out well and claimed it (27th). PSG opened the scoring with a textbook play: Nuno Mendes was stopped on the left but managed to cross; Ramos missed it, but Lee was at the back post to score with a fine volley (1-0, 29th)!
PSG came close to a second goal thanks to a moment of genius from Joao Neves to find Goncalo Ramos, who was offside and again shot at Diaw (34th). From another Parisian corner, Neves shot low, Ramos deflected it, but it was blocked (37th). With a bit of luck, Kechta found himself in a position to shoot from a very tight angle, but Chevalier pushed it away (39th). From the following corner, Paris cleared poorly, and Seko shot, just over (39th).
Paris had a very good move that ended in the box, but the Parisian players misunderstood each other, and the counter was on, eventually well managed (42nd). Mbaye intercepted a good ball and found Nuno Mendes on the left, who returned it; Mbaye shot first-time but missed the target (43rd). With a bit of space, Ramos found himself alone at the 18-yard line, shot straight at Diaw, who parried (44th). At halftime, Paris was ahead, but Le Havre was dangerous.
The second half logically resumed without changes. On a nice central run, Mayulu managed to shoot with his left from 18 meters, but it went wide (47th). Le Havre was far from giving up and remained threatening, with Parisians continuing to give the ball away cheaply (50th). On a quick attack, Mbaye got into a shooting position, curled it, but Diaw was there (52nd).
By the hour mark, Barcola had already replaced Lee, but nothing changed with PSG still as disjointed (59th). On a quick break, Ramos found himself in a good position in the box but chose to shoot from a tight angle with Mbaye alone in the center (60th)... On the following action, Nuno Mendes won an interesting free kick and was booked, but Chevalier made a big save (62nd)!
Barcola broke away in behind and crossed to the near post; Ramos missed his backheel, but Mbaye was at the back post and hit the bar, though offside was called (63rd). PSG finally scored a second, slightly fortunate goal: Zaire-Emery made a very good switch to Barcola on the left. He shot twice but was blocked; Neves was there to score on the third attempt (2-0, 65th)!
Just after coming on, Ndjantou made his mark and tried his luck from 20 meters, well over (67th). Just as the game seemed over, Le Havre pushed forward and Ebonog fired a missile off the post after getting behind Nuno Mendes (70th)! PSG played in spurts, and the Kvara/Barcola duo managed to get through on goal without real danger after a nice one-two (75th). After a well-constructed move, Zaire-Emery crossed to the back post, but Mendes shot wide (79th).
PSG now seemed more comfortable and won another corner (83rd). As Zabarnyi handled a counter well, PSG broke the other way and Mbaye found Ndjantou on the opposite side, but he couldn't get a shot off (85th). Barcola was somewhat jostled in the box, but not enough to award a penalty (85th).
PSG finally scored a fine third goal: Kvara was found in the center circle and saw Barcola making a run in behind from the right; he played the ball, Barcola beat Lloris to it and shot victoriously (3-0, 87th)!
PSG nearly scored a fourth immediately after: Kvara found Mbaye on the right, who played it back perfectly to the 20-yard line; the Georgian shot first-time, but Diaw produced a miraculous save on his line (92nd)! Kvara tried again from the left with a curled effort, wide (93rd).
