In the context of the 16th matchday of the 2025/2026 Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain travelled to face FC Metz this Saturday, and the Parisians logically won (3-2). Ramos and Ndjantou scored in the first half, Doue at the hour mark, but Metz came back twice and pushed until the last second. Paris did the main job, with a reshuffled team at that, but poorly managed the end of the game.
Metz kicked off, and the first attack yielded nothing; the same for the first acceleration by Mbaye (1st). A long through ball for Mbaye was dangerous; his cross into the box was too far back for Ramos (2nd). Paris had the ball, but Metz tried to build from the back, without success (5th). Diallo was hurt in a duel with Zabarnyi, causing a stoppage, and Metz played with 10 men (6th). A first cross from Lee yielded nothing, while a high press was poorly exploited by Zaire-Emery (8th).
Paris had the ball and made Metz run a lot, but the Lorraine side held firm (13th). A somewhat lucky FCM action reached the box, but Hein miscontrolled, and Safonov was alert (14th). Mbaye won an interesting free kick on the left side, Vitinha took it, and Ramos made a superb near-post run, but the keeper pushed it onto the line (17th). On the following action, FC Metz nearly scored an own goal on a completely wild chested pass-back (19th).
Paris tried to wear down Metz with its ball possession, but Mbaye finished poorly after a good individual action (24th). Well-served through the center, Ramos advanced and won an excellent central free kick. Lee took it over the bar (27th). On a corner won by Ramos, Lee played quickly with Ndjantou, who gave it back, the South Korean then found Ramos in the box, who powered in an unstoppable headed cross (0-1, 31st).
Metz rebelled after this goal, but PSG handled this strong period from the hosts well (35th). Diallo was found very well, but Zabarnyi made an excellent recovery tackle (36th). PSG had a huge chance for a second on a magnificent attack. Ruiz found Ramos exceptionally in the box, the Portuguese tried to dribble past the keeper but failed and was forced wide (37th).
It was PSG's youngsters who doubled the lead: Mbaye was served on the left, he beat one man, then delivered a perfect left-footed cross to Ndjantou, who had surged into the box and finished with a tap-in (0-2, 39th).
Metz did not give up, however, and continued to push. Pacho cleared a first attempt from Diallo poorly; it fell to Deminguet, who shot very hard under the bar and beat Safonov (1-2, 42nd minute). A good PSG press allowed Ramos to be served 30 metres from the goal; he advanced but misplaced his pass to Ndjantou (44th). PSG had a very good chance for a 3-1 lead after a one-two between Ramos and Ndjantou, but the Portuguese miscontrolled before the shot (45th+5). At the halfway point, PSG was logically ahead, but under threat.
At halftime, Doue replaced Ruiz, and Lee gave a good ball to Ndjantou in the box; he shot hard but hit the keeper from a tight angle (46th). Metz responded with a big acceleration from the left winger, but he misplaced his cross at the end (48th). Mbaye intercepted a ball and accelerated. He passed to Ramos, who could only win a corner (50th).
Vitinha worked a small miracle to find Doue, who served Ramos in behind. He shot hard, but the keeper saved well (52nd). Doue produced another nice piece of skill and then passed to Ramos in a perfect position, but the Portuguese was tackled (53rd)... PSG had started very strongly again, and chances were multiplying, but Metz was still holding on (55th). PSG developed an excellent counter, but Mbaye misplaced his final pass for Ndjantou (57th).
Metz did not give up at all, and Diallo hit a long cross first-time from 18m, which went just wide (59th). Alert for PSG, Doue stayed down after contact with Traore; he seemed to be suffering in his left leg (62nd). He got up finally, and the corner was taken and was dangerous, another chance for Metz with a long-range shot from Kouao and a super save from Safonov (62nd). On the following corner, Doue found himself going towards the goal all alone and easily beat the keeper (1-3, 63rd).
And as if that wasn't enough, Kvara and Barcola replaced Ndjantou and Ramos (66th). Served in behind by Kvara, Mbaye unleashed a monstrous shot onto the bar. The action continued with Doue recovering and shooting, the keeper made a big save (71st). PSG was clearly on top, and Kvara switched play to Barcola. He advanced and fired a shot that went just over (78th).
Against all odds, it was Metz who closed the gap. Tsitaishvili toyed with Zaire-Emery; he benefited from a slight touch in the box from Hein, then beat Safonov (2-3, 81st). His compatriot Kvara tried to respond, but Fischer saved well (82nd). The momentum had changed, and Metz was winning every duel now (87th). Lee tried a good long pass towards Barcola, but the keeper came out well (88th). Metz continued to push and won a corner (91st).
