An unexpected break grants PSG precious recovery time. Key players recharge their batteries before the crucial Champions League clash against Chelsea.
Eliminated from the Coupe de France in the round of 64 by Paris FC, PSG will not play the quarterfinals of the competition, which take place from Tuesday to Thursday this week. This allows Luis Enrique's men to rest for now, with eight days until the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 between PSG and Chelsea.
In a normal world, PSG would have played a Coupe de France quarterfinal this Tuesday before facing Monaco on Friday in Ligue 1. But since PSG was eliminated by Paris FC in the round of 64 of the "Old Lady," they have only one match to prepare for and play this week.
After the endless season they experienced in 2024/2025, PSG will not complain, even though they would obviously have preferred to remain alive in all competitions until the end. During the first two weeks of February, PSG has only one match this week, and Luis Enrique made the quite logical choice to give his players a lot of rest.
The Parisians, who had a light training session on Sunday following their 1-0 victory at Le Havre, were indeed resting this Monday and are still resting this Tuesday. They will only return to the Campus this Wednesday, more than three days after their last training session, and will have another session on Thursday before facing Monaco on Friday at the Parc des Princes.
PSG will then train Saturday morning before having another day of rest this Sunday. From Monday, PSG will really switch into preparation for the clash against Chelsea, which they will face on Wednesday, March 11, at the Parc des Princes in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16. The Blues will face Aston Villa this Wednesday evening at Villa Park in the Premier League before traveling to Wrexham on Saturday in the FA Cup.
