Hamstring pain had sidelined PSG's captain, Marquinhos, as Brazil faces France on Thursday.

After missing two consecutive training sessions due to a physical issue, PSG captain Marquinhos is out for the friendly match against France, Carlo Ancelotti has announced.

The trend was already very clear, and it has now become official: Marquinhos will not play the Brazil vs. France friendly on Thursday because he is indeed out. It is his coach, Carlo Ancelotti, who just confirmed it at his pre-match press conference, an announcement expected given the training sessions in recent days.

Both Monday and Tuesday, the Brazilian captain of PSG, who remained on the bench last Saturday in Nice (4-0), was unable to train due to a minor hamstring issue, and his absence was therefore expected, with Ancelotti also announcing in passing that he will be replaced by Leo Pereira, whom PSG faced in the Intercontinental Cup final.

PSG's Marquinhos Ruled Out for Brazil vs. France With Hamstring Injury

However, Marquinhos is not being released by the national team just yet, as Carlo Ancelotti explained, since he "may be able to play against Croatia," Brazil's second opponent during this international break.

The Brazil vs. Croatia friendly is scheduled for Tuesday night into Wednesday next week in Orlando, in the southeastern United States.

For PSG, which hosts Toulouse on Friday, April 3, Marquinhos' participation in this second friendly would almost automatically trigger his absence from the match against Toulouse, given the very short turnaround between the two and the long journey from Florida to Paris.

Still, there is one piece of good news: if Brazil does not release Marquinhos immediately, it means the PSG captain is not seriously injured.
