Contract negotiations stall as PSG and Senny Mayulu clash over terms, leaving the young talent's future at the club in doubt.
Still under contract with PSG until 2027, Senny Mayulu says discussions over his extension have been dragging on for several weeks.
PSG has launched a new wave of contract extensions. After extending the contracts of Willian Pacho and Joao Neves by one year, the Parisian board is also close to finalizing the cases of Fabian Ruiz and Lucas Beraldo. And three other cases will occupy the leaders in the coming weeks: Bradley Barcola, Ousmane Dembele, and Senny Mayulu.
Regarding the 19-year-old, negotiations have become complicated in recent weeks. According to information from Le Parisien, "the renewal of the Titi is at a standstill, and Paris as well as the player have arrived at a blocking situation that irritates the European champions to the highest degree." The Parisian management was supposed to return to the charge at the beginning of 2026 to move forward on the player's future. And while both parties agreed to continue the adventure together, the new discussions did not lead to a rapprochement. "PSG indicates that they have lasted for a year and that it has formulated three extension proposals and affirms that they have all been refused by Senny Mayulu," specifies Le Parisien.
However, PSG offered a four-year extension until 2030, with a salary increase on the table. But "sources diverge. For some, he would remain in a bracket that does not correspond to his breakthrough. For others, he is asking for excessive remuneration." Under the policy put in place by Luis Campos, new salaries are split into a fixed and a variable part. "Which, in the case of the young Parisian, would not necessarily be a problem even if on Paris' side, they maintain that his entourage does not accept the percentages desired by the club." The Parisian formation does not understand this wait-and-see approach to finding common ground. Tensions on PSG's side reportedly flared up this weekend over this case.
Hit in the calf, Senny Mayulu will miss another week of competition, but his usage upon his return from injury will need to be closely monitored. However, the European champions saw his significant playing time as a strong sign to extend Titi's contract, especially since Luis Enrique appreciates the versatility of the 19-year-old. But, as in the Gianluigi Donnarumma case last summer, PSG will not accept that a player enter the new season in his final year of contract. "That will be the case for Mayulu in a few weeks. PSG sends the ball back to Titi's court, who remains calm about the possibility of finding an agreement," concludes the Parisian outlet.
