Flames ignite the Eiffel Tower and club history unfolds as PSG ultras ignite the Parc des Princes for a historic derby tifo.

For the great return of the Parisian derby, a giant tifo was displayed at Parc des Princes across three stands before Paris Saint-Germain vs. Paris FC (2-1) on Sunday night.

It had been nearly 48 years since PSG and Paris FC had faced each other in an official match, and the Rouge et Bleu supporters, including the Collectif Ultras Paris, had decided to mark the occasion by displaying a giant tifo across three stands (Auteuil, Paris, Boulogne) on Sunday night. In the Auteuil stand, one could see a red Eiffel Tower set ablaze thanks to flares, with the roof of Parc des Princes in the foreground.

In the Paris stand, one could read a giant "Paris is us" on a Hechter jersey background, with above it all the trophies won by PSG since its creation, including the Champions League, the European Super Cup, and the recent Intercontinental Cup. Each with the years of the titles in question.

Finally, on the Boulogne side, a giant banner displayed the birth certificate of Paris Saint-Germain Football Club filed at the police prefecture on Aug. 12, 1970. Above it, another proudly presented the different logos of the club since its creation, as well as its historic jerseys.

What Happened in the PSG vs. Paris FC Derby?

Vitinha recovered a ball 45 meters from the goal and immediately passed to Ruiz. The Spaniard advanced and obviously saw Doue alone on the left side. The Frenchman advanced and beat Trapp (1-0, 45').

PSG hurt them again immediately after with a cross-shot from Doue, poorly saved by Trapp; neither Ruiz nor Zabarnyi could follow up from six meters, and the subsequent shot from Nuno Mendes was just over (45+2'). Doue was unstoppable and sent in a good cross, but Pacho's header was off target (45+3'). At halftime, PSG was very logically ahead on the scoreboard, and could have even scored more.

A dramatic twist after a few minutes; Gory was played in behind the defense, Zabarnyi seemed to recover on him cleanly, but the referee whistled for a barely believable penalty (49')! VAR confirmed the foul, though hardly obvious... Chevalier went the right way, but Geubbels' shot was too powerful (1-1, 51').

PSG immediately regained the lead through Ousmane Dembele: Zaire-Emery was played in by Neves on the right side, he carried the ball up and served Dembele wide, he dribbled past De Smet inside, then shot, it was deflected and fooled Trapp (2-1, 53').
