Vitinha names Bayern and Arsenal as PSG's main rivals, highlighting their strength and tactical prowess. These giants stand in PSG's path to dominance.

In his wide-ranging interview given to A Bola, Vitinha insisted on the necessity of turning the page on the extraordinary 2024/25 season to stay competitive and has already identified two teams that are, from his point of view, true rivals for PSG this season.

Vitinha does not want to live in the past, nor believe he has reached his destination, which is why he has not yet rewatched PSG's Champions League final against Inter Milan, as he explained to the Portuguese sports daily A Bola last week. In this same interview, the Portuguese midfielder also recalled that everything can change very quickly in football.

"The beginning of a new era, that of PSG? I sincerely hope so. But I repeat what I have already said: I know how it works. Football is about the present moment; it changes fast. We have to prove it in every match..." he answered, before being questioned about PSG's defeat against Bayern Munich last Nov. 4 in the Champions League.

PSG's Vitinha Picks Bayern, Arsenal as Champions League Favorites

"At the moment, Bayern and Arsenal are the strongest teams," answered Vitinha. "Like us, but it will be very complicated. We have also had many injuries and absences up to now, and still, at this stage of the season, it has been very difficult. Bayern is a very complete team, very well coached by Kompany, with great players who all play for the collective. I see Olise coming to defend near the full-back, Luis Diaz too, and Kane making tackles in defense and passes as if he were a holding midfielder. It's a great team. They are truly the best team, along with Arsenal."

It is likely not a coincidence that Arsenal and Bayern Munich currently occupy first and second place in the Champions League standings after six matchdays, ahead of PSG. Two teams that PSG has faced several times in 2025 and on whom we will probably have to count again in 2026, even if the truth of winter is not always that of spring.
