Paris Saint-Germain finished 11th in the Champions League league phase after its 1-1 draw against Newcastle on the eighth matchday and knows its provisional bracket for the rest of the competition.
To start, the Parisians will have to beat Monaco or Qarabag in the playoffs.
Luis Enrique has repeated in recent days that he was not convinced that finishing in the Top 8 was a good thing for his team's momentum, already deprived of several Coupe de France matches after its surprise elimination in the round of 16. The Spanish coach was, of course, disappointed this Wednesday night after the 1-1 draw against Newcastle, which meant an 11th-place finish, but was not disheartened after the match.
11th in the Champions League league phase, PSG will play the playoffs on February 17-18 (first leg) and February 24-25, 2026 (second leg), and already knows its two potential opponents: AS Monaco, which finished 21st, and Qarabag, the champion of Azerbaijan, which finished 22nd.
PSG will learn its fate this Friday, January 30, following a draw that will take place from noon.
If this draw on January 30 will only concern the playoffs, we already know the theoretical bracket for PSG for the round of 16 and the rest of the competition.
In case of qualification for the round of 16, PSG will thus face either FC Barcelona or Chelsea, which finished 5th and 6th respectively in the league phase.
In the quarterfinals, PSG will face the winner of the round of 16 match, pitting Liverpool or Tottenham against the winner of the 16th-final, Bruges or Galatasaray vs Juventus or Atletico.
In the semifinals, there are many potential opponents, and we will have to wait for the new draw, after the playoffs, to know more. A new draw will take place on February 27, 2026.
