Crewe Alexandra's Under 21's three game run without defeat came to an end at a sun-drenched Vitality Stadium on Monday lunchtime as Alan Connell's development side saw them off in a 3-2 victory, enhancing their chances of finishing in the top two.

The visitors went 1-0 through Jordan Hodkin before Michael Dacosta Gonzalez equalised on the 11th minute with a beautiful strike from the edge of the box. However Crewe re-took the lead just after half time with Luca Moore netting with a well-taken finish on the turn.

Eugene Nyarko powered home an excellent header with 15 minutes to for the Chez before Jonny Day, fresh from his training stint at Moreirense, netted from an acute angle with moments to go - giving Bournemouth an all important 3-2 win.
