Brentford end the weekend in a less favourable position than they started. Wins for Brighton, Bournemouth and Sunderland have left all three sides within two points of the Bees, meaning the table could quickly tighten and Brentford could drop from seventh to as low as 12th with the wrong results elsewhere.

Chelsea’s defeat to Manchester City does at least offer some encouragement, with Brentford and Everton now sitting just one point off sixth following their draw.
