Albion Supporters Protected by UEFA Rules Despite Getafe Ticket Shut-out

Sevilla released a statement yesterday regarding the fact that, as a result of the ongoing construction works at Estadio Coliseum, Getafe hadn't allocated them any away tickets for a La Liga fixture that takes place just 4 days before The Albion's trip to Madrid. However, this will NOT affect the Conference League fixture on Thursday 5th November, and here's why.

-La Liga's 'Grada Visitante' ('Visiting Stand') rules, which allows for a minimum allocation as well as a €30 (~£25) ticket cap, is an optional agreement between each club and the governing body, Getafe have simply opted-out of the agreement and aren't under any obligation to provide away tickets

-However, UEFA have mandotary requirements in their club competitions. Article 45 of the UEFA Club Competiton Regulations state that: ''Home clubs must make at least 5% of the capacity available to visiting supporters''

Therefore, Brighton's trip to the Spanish Capital isn't under any threat of an away shutout, as per UEFA ruling. That being said, despite the fixture now being less than a month away, Getafe still have not provided any ticket details to Brighton as per the club website, so this saga is still frustratingly far from over.
