Sully Talkz Exclusive: Real Madrid are open to selling Audrelian Tchouaméni this summer, should Manchester United be able to convince him to leave.

What does the Tchouaméni news mean for Manchester United's summer plans?

Manchester United are preparing for a massive summer transfer window after successfully qualifying for the UEFA Champions League for the 2026/27 campaign.

Michael Carrick looks set to become the permanent head coach following an impressive last four months, where his side has won 10 out of his 15 games in charge. The Red Devils already have a decent squad of players, but it is clear that they need more depth for next season.

In last week’s draw against Sunderland, it became evident that the side struggled without Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte. Mason Mount had to play in the pivot alongside Kobbie Mainoo, with only Jack and Tyler Fletcher as backups on the bench.

It's clear that the midfield is a priority position that needs to be upgraded, especially with Casemiro leaving, and United are already looking at a number of players in that position.

Sources: Real Madrid only open to Tchouaméni sale if Man Utd convince him to leave

Roundtable understands that Real Madrid would be open to letting Aurelien Tchouaméni leave, only on the basis that the player himself asks to leave.

It is up to Manchester United to try to convince him to join, as the Spanish giants want to keep him.

His current stance is that he wants to stay, and if he does stay, Madrid will look to renew his contract, as it expires in 2028.

He is a player who is high on the Red Devils' shortlist of midfielders and admired internally.

How realistic is Tchouameni signing for Man Utd?

With Casemiro's contract expiring at the end of the year and Manuel Ugarte being connected to clubs in Europe, it appears likely that United will attempt to recruit at least two midfielders, potentially even three.

Multiple names have been linked, as United have a big ‘shortlist’ of names for the centre of the park.

Reports around the 26-year-old Frenchman have been circulating for weeks now, which has instilled some belief in fans.

While it could very much be the case that his agent may be looking for a better deal for his client, the interest in Tchouaméni is very much real from United’s side. He is seen as the perfect profile to partner with Kobbie Mainoo and a ‘dream’ signing.

The situation is still very early, with a lot of names still being assessed.
