Chivas accepts Olympiacos' third offer for Armando Gonzalez, according to reports. The Greek club closes the deal for the Mexican striker.

According to the latest reports in the Greek media, Olympiacos F.C. have completed the signing of Chivas de Guadalajara striker Armando Gonzalez.

According to Athletiko.gr, Chivas have accepted the third offer from the Red and Whites for Gonzalez, 23, around 9 million euros (around $10.4 million) for 70% of his rights. That is, if Olympiacos sells the player, Chivas would receive 30% of that future sale.

On the other hand, Sport-FM.gr reports that the agreement is indeed closed. However, the figures they handle are different. According to this information, the agreement was closed for 8.5 million euros plus 2 million in bonuses (a total package of around $12.2 million), "while there will also be a 10% resale percentage."

Sport24 journalist and Olympiacos insider Nikos Kotsis has also confirmed the news. "Exactly as we wrote last night: Olympiacos F.C. has made Armando Gonzalez its own," we reported on his X (Twitter) account.

He added, "The agreement with Chivas Guadalajara is final. The Mexican team responded positively to the final offer, which includes 8,500,000 euros + 2,000,000 euros in bonuses + a 10% sell-on percentage. The international striker has been in agreement with the Red and Whites for days and is expected in Greece by Wednesday."

Kotsis's report also aligns with information from Sport-FM.gr. Apparently, it is all closed, and Gonzalez will be a new Olympiacos player sooner rather than later.

Recently, we spoke exclusively with Mexican journalist and Liga MX expert Nazario Assad, who explained that Gonzalez is a classic No. 9 striker, a finisher in the box.

He said that he is "very dependent on service from teammates. He has certain similarities in his movement into space and positioning inside the area with other Mexican forwards such as Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez and Omar Bravo."

After commenting that he still has a lot of room for development in his associative game and in becoming a more self-sufficient forward, Assad added that Gonzalez "still needs to polish his finishing; he requires many chances to convert them into goals. If he gets on a hot streak, he can be unstoppable, or he can go months without scoring."

Assad had already told us that the most likely scenario was that Chivas would ask for between 20-30% of a potential future sale, which coincides with the report from Athletiko.gr, although the other two cited outlets report different figures. We will have to wait for more developments.
