The WNBA and its players’ union failed to reach a new CBA by Friday’s deadline and have now entered a status-quo period with negotiations ongoing.

The sides remain divided on major issues like revenue sharing and salary structure, and the tone has clearly sharpened. The union says the league ran out the clock. The league says it’s negotiating in good faith and offering historic pay increases.

With no moratorium in place, teams can technically issue qualifying offers — even though no one knows what the future salary cap will look like. That uncertainty alone highlights how unresolved things still are.

So what’s your read on this?

Is this just standard labor brinkmanship before a deal gets done, or does this feel like a real turning point for the league? Which side do you think has more leverage right now — and what should be the top priority to get this across the finish line?

Curious to hear everyone’s thoughts.
