The Pittsburgh Steelers are certainly more concerned with winning the AFC North than they are with the offseason right now, but that doesn't mean we can't at least discuss the latter.
The Steelers are a good football team, but it's also clear they have some significant holes that must be addressed, so they should be busy in the spring, especially with a decent chunk of cap space coming their way.
But could Pittsburgh start making moves before free agency even begins?
Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox thinks so, advising the Steelers to sign safety Kyle Dugger to a contract extension.
"Pittsburgh acquired Dugger from New England in exchange for a late-round pick swap, and it has already seen impactful results," Knox wrote. "Dugger has started all four games in which he's appeared and has recorded 18 tackles, three passes defended and a pick-six while allowing an opposing passer rating of only 53.1 in coverage."
Given how poorly Dugger played in 2024 and that he was essentially a Patriots castoff, his resurgence in Pittsburgh has been a bit surprising.

However, the 29-year-old hasn't been great overall this season.
Dugger owns a coverage grade of 57.3 at Pro Football Focus, which ranks 61st among 93 qualifying safeties. His 62.1 overall grade isn't spectacular, either.
The Steelers have had some pretty debilitating struggles defensively throughout the year, and while Dugger is certainly not the one to blame, he also isn't exactly elite.
At least not anymore.
There was a time when Dugger was actually one of the better safeties in football during his time in New England, like in 2022 when he racked up 78 tackles, a sack, three interceptions, eight passes defended and a couple of defensive touchdowns.
But since then, Dugger has largely declined in coverage to the point where the Pats were basically willing to give him away this season.
Pittsburgh may be better off drafting a safety and using that money elsewhere rather than giving it to Dugger, who turns 30 years old in March.
The Steelers are 6-5 on the season and will face the Buffalo Bills in a pivotal game on Sunday.
