There’s been a lot of talk about how people feel about Mike Tomlin, and some of it might be fair, while some of it is a bit unfair.

The harsh reality here is that Tomlin has done a good job with the Steelers, but hasn’t helped them win a Super Bowl in quite some time now. Unfortunately for Tomlin, the Steelers are expected to win every single year, as they’re one of the best organizations in NFL history.

On the flip side, Tomlin still does a lot of good for the Steelers and the organization as a whole. Whether it be helping out in the city of Pittsburgh, being a good guy, or ultimately being competitive every season and making the postseason, there’s a lot to be said about that.

When speaking about what Tomlin means to him in his first year with a new head coach, it sounds like he’s very respected around the building. Star wide receiver DK Metcalf had a lot to say, but it all ultimately meant that Tomlin is a great person and someone he has a lot of respect for.

“I think he's a great leader,” Metcalf said, per Yardbarker. “Just the way that he carries himself in and out of the building. How he motivates me and gets me to follow his lead. I think he's done a heck of a job sitting in there, listening to his team meetings. Anything that he has to say or his point of view about things. He’s coached some great players in his past, and I’m just trying to add to that list with the way that I play.”

Cutting ties with Tomlin seems a bit unlikely, but we’ve seen crazier things happen around the NFL. Some have suggested that it might happen, while others don't believe that’s the case.

However, we also have to factor in things like this, as Tomlin truly is loved by a lot of players inside the building. There’s something to be said about that.

We’ll see what happens over the next few weeks, but if I had to guess, I think Tomlin will be the coach in the future.
