With the quarterback situation being a unique scenario in Pittsburgh due to Aaron Rodgers' age, it'll be interesting to see what approach the front office and ownership group take during the draft process.

If Rodgers decides to play for another year, perhaps the Steelers will base their decision on his decision.

When examining the situation, The Athletic put out a great piece, with Mike DeFabo, a Steelers reporter, offering some insight into what the Steelers might do.

He noted that even if Rodgers decides to come back to Pittsburgh next year, there's a chance the Steelers will draft a quarterback in the first round in this upcoming draft.

“The team has been diligently scouting and evaluating all of the quarterbacks in this year’s draft. Right now, even if the Steelers might be willing the keep the door open for Rodgers, the veteran quarterback shouldn’t alter their approach.

“In fact, even if Rodgers returns, there could be some value in drafting a quarterback in the first round who can learn behind the future Hall of Famer. Rodgers was a willing mentor for rookie QB Will Howard this summer. He did the same for Jordan Love in Green Bay. In that way, maybe Rodgers would still be the bridge to the future — the bridge will just be longer than initially anticipated,” he wrote.

As he touched on, adding a QB with Rodgers honestly might not be the worst idea.

I know he was upset about the Green Bay Packers doing that, but it was also in a much different part of his career when they decided to draft Jordan Love.

The Packers never really drafted around Rodgers, as they were a defensive-focused team, and didn't even select a wide receiver in the first round during his time in Green Bay.

Rodgers wasn't happy with the addition of Love, but it seems like both of them have a great relationship, and his displeasure wasn't focused on Love, but rather the organization not going out and making the necessary moves with him on the roster in the past.

For the Steelers, however, there shouldn't be too much of a worry about that unless Rodgers really still has that same type of feeling and believes he can win every year.
