The New York Yankees have been linked to a rather intriguing trade involving Jasson Dominguez.
Trade speculation has swirled around New York Yankees outfielder Jasson Dominguez this offseason, even though the Yankees themselves have given no indication that they are attempting to move the youngster.
That being said, if New York does ultimately re-sign Cody Bellinger, the writing could be on the wall for Dominguez, who would be entering 2026 as a bench player and with top prospect Spencer Jones breathing down his neck.
There would certainly be no shortage of interest in Dominguez if he became available, even his value may not be quite what it was a couple of years ago.
But what would the Yankees require in return in a potential trade package?
Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter has pitched an intriguing idea in which New York would send Dominguez to the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for pitchers Brady Singer and Chase Petty, a deal the Yanks might actually consider if it were on the table.
Singer has been in the big leagues for six seasons, spending five years with the Kansas City Royals before being traded to the Reds in November 2024.
The 28-year-old logged a 4.03 ERA while allowing 150 hits and registering 163 strikeouts over 169.2 innings of work this past season and owns a lifetime 4.23 ERA and 3.97 FIP.

The former first-round pick was a top-100 prospect in baseball entering last year.
Surely, the Yankees would prefer to include Dominguez in a much bigger trade for a more bona fide pitcher (like fellow Reds hurler Hunter Greene, for example) if they are going to move him, but if Cincinnati came and offered both Singer and Petty in exchange for Dominguez, New York might be willing to listen depending on the circumstances.
If Dominguez is slated to be the Yanks' starting left fielder, there probably wouldn't be a whole lot to discuss here, but if Bellinger returns? Then it opens the door to interesting possibilities.
Of course, the question is whether or not Singer would actually help the Yankees' starting rotation. When healthy, New York will have Gerrit Cole, Max Fried, Carlos Rodon, Cam Schlittler, Will Warren and Luis Gil. Is Singer markedly better than any of those arms?
The real draw here would be Petty, although his 6.39 ERA at Triple-A Louisville in 2025 would certainly be alarming to the Bronx Bombers in trade discussions.
Realistically speaking, this isn't the ideal way to move Dominguez, who is only 22 himself and showed some positive signs at the plate this past year even if he was disappointing overall.
