UEFA Champions League: Matchday 3
The start of three home games in a row for Liverpool sees them take on Villarreal in the Champions League.
The Reds will be hoping that with the help of the Anfield faithful, they will be able to continue their perfect start to their European campaign.
Liverpool v Villarreal (27th April 2022)
The last time these two sides met on Merseyside was during the knockout stages of the tournament back in 2022.
A semi-final clash over two legs to decide who would go on to face Real Madrid in the final, held in Paris.
The first leg was held at Anfield, with then Jurgen Klopp's side taking a 2-0 advantage over to Spain the following week.

LFC would advance into the final after edging out a five-goal thriller in Villarreal, before losing the final after Thibaut Courtois had a heroic game for the 15-time champions of Europe.
Last Time Out: Brentford v Liverpool
A trip to the Gtech Community Stadium awaited Andoni Iraola's side over the weekend, a tough place to go, especially against a Brentford team that, up to that point, hadn't lost a game across all competitions.
The first half showed the quality of the Bees, with them finally finding a breakthrough in the game thanks to a Keane Lewis-Potter header, giving Keith Andrews' side a deserved lead.

But the comeback would begin with a Victor Munoz goal, after Florian Wirtz slipped in the Spaniard on the right-hand side.
Munoz then chopped inside and curled his shot, left-footed, into the bottom corner past Caoimhin Kelleher to equalise for the Reds.
The turnaround would then be complete via a striker's finish from Alexander Isak, who marked his return to the matchday squad after sustaining an injury while away on international duty with Sweden, with a goal, giving Liverpool a 2-1 lead and eventually all three points.
Villarreal's Form
The Yellow Submarine have had a massive uptick in form in the last five games, going from a side that was struggling to stop losing, to now winning four of the last five.
They have beaten European giants like Napoli during this period, and their only loss came narrowly to Real Madrid away from home.
Under manager Inigo Perez, they will pose a tough test for Andoni Iraola's side, but the Reds will be confident that they can win this match and make it nine points out of nine.
