The Reds face a nervous wait to see how bad the injury star striker Alexander Isak has picked up while playing for Sweden in recent days.
Liverpool's players have been conducting their opening matches of the three-week international break in the last few days, and it has appeared that so far, so good on the injury front.
And not only had the Reds yet to pick up any injury concerns for their players; there were a few who, in the country's opening games, would play a starring role. Cody Gakpo would find an all-important equaliser against Jurgen Klopp's Germany to ensure that new Netherlands boss Xavi earned a point in his first game in charge.
REUTERS/Piroschka Van De WouwAny club that sends its players off to represent their nation just hopes that they get some much-needed rest while also not picking up any injuries that could rule them out of any games when they resume their season.
And if Andoni Iraola could have picked any player to be wrapped up in cotton wool over this international period, it would likely have been Swedish striker Alexander Isak.
Isak's Red Hot Start To The Season
The £125 million man has had a very positive start to this campaign under the Spanish coach, registering four goals in the opening five Premier League games of the season, including an all-important winner away at Bournemouth in Liverpool's most recent fixture.
And while Iraola has been asking for more from Isak off the ball, on the ball he is getting closer and closer to the best version of himself, a clinical goalscorer and one that LFC desperately need after the ever-reliable Mohamed Salah departed during the summer.
So, as he jetted off to join up with the Swedish national team, Iraola and his medical team will have been keeping a close eye on how much the club's only available striker plays.
The Reds' number nine would start Sweden's clash with Romania, where he would score and help his side win 2-1, but he would later be seen hobbling off the pitch and looking in some discomfort.
Claudio Bresciani/TT News AgencyIsak would then explain after the game that he had been stamped on during the second half of his nation's victory, but he didn't believe it was anything to worry about.
"You can see it...
"It was a heavy stamp. Those of you who have played might know that it takes a few minutes for the pain to subside, but it was okay."
But since then the club have put out an announcement that may just concern a few fans.
What Has Been Announced?
Liverpool have confirmed that Alexander Isak has withdrawn from international duty with Sweden due to a minor injury. He will now return to the AXA training ground, where he will undergo further assessment by the Reds' medical team.
Reuters/Paul ChildsWhile many may have suspected that this injury was the stamp of his foot that he referred to after the game, Sweden boss Graham Potter has come out and explained the real reason behind Alexander Isak's early return to Merseyside.
"Isak has a minor thigh problem. It’s nothing serious, but due to the number of matches in a short period of time, he won’t be able to take part. It’s frustrating for both him and us. But it is what it is."

The hope will be that this thigh problem is only minor, as has been said, with the Reds being super careful managing any issues with their only fit out-and-out centre forward.
But fans nonetheless will anxiously be awaiting updates on the club's star striker with the hope that he will be fit and ready to go when the Reds take on Manchester City at Anfield on the 11th of October.
