Roberto Firmino Makes Alexander Isak Prediction and Opens Up on Liverpool, Salah, Mane and Klopp

Roberto Firmino is much loved LFC player from when he played for the club between 2015 and 2023, and he formed part of a team and more specifically a front line that will go down in not only Liverpool Football Club history, but in Premier League history as well. 

Since departing Anfield in 2023, he has went on to play in both Saudi Arabia and Qatar, but has struggled to match the numbers that he put up for LFC, as it appears he is in the twilight of his career.

But the Brazilian will be remembered very fondly by Liverpool fans regardless of what he has done since leaving the club and he has been speaking to James Pearce about all things Liverpool.

As previously highlighted, Firmino spent eight years at Liverpool and he and his family have grown to love the city, its people and the football club, and this is something that the striker highlights, "It's been three years since I left, but I still try to watch all of Liverpool's matches. The club means everything to me and my family. The people there always treated us so well".

Bobby Firmino goes on to explain that he has memories from his time at Liverpool that mean so much to him:

“We have so many amazing memories. There was so much joy with the goals I was able to score, the trophies that we won and the parades we had around the city. It was a gift from God to be able to play there for so long. I’m proud of what we achieved.”

A key relationship in the success of Firmino at Liverpool was the one he had with the manager, Jurgen Klopp. And he explained how important Klopp was at the start of his Liverpool career and that he and Klopp still talk to each other.

"We message each other on Instagram sometimes. I owe Jurgen a lot because he helped me so much in my career"

“It wasn’t easy for me at the start when I joined Liverpool, but he really believed in me. He told me how important I was going to be for his team.”

Firmino has also put firm believe in Klopp being a success in his new role as German head coach.

“It’s so good to see him back coaching again. He needed some time off to rest after so many years at Liverpool. I thought he would come back eventually. Managing Germany is a good opportunity for him.


He’s such a positive person and gets the best out of players. He helps you fulfil your potential. I’m sure he will do very well with his national team.”

Undoubtedly, one of the main things that Roberto Firmino will be remembered for from his time at Liverpool is forming part of one of the most iconic front three's in Premier League history.

Across the five seasons that the three of them played together, they scored 338 goals between them and would help Liverpool win major honours, such as the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, Super Cup and Club World Cup. 

And speaking about this forward line, he explained why it worked so well:

“It worked so well because Mo, Sadio and I all had qualities that complemented each other, we could all score goals but we could also create for each other. We had such a great understanding in terms of where each of us was on the field and where we wanted the ball to be placed.”

He would also give credit to Jurgen Klopp as to why the trio were so successful and wished Mohamed Salah all the best following his recent move to Turkish side Trabzonspor:

“I wish Mo the best as he starts a new chapter in Turkey (having recently joined Trabzonspor). He broke so many records at Liverpool. The three of us made history together by winning everything. We were also fortunate to have such a good manager.”

Since Roberto Firmino left the club, there have been two strikers that have taken the number 9 at Liverpool, and attempted to replicate the success of Firmino at LFC. The first was Darwin Nunez, who despite having a lot of the characteristics to be a massive success, it never really worked, and struggled to be the prolific striker that Liverpool needed. 

Then last summer the club moved to sign Alexander Isak for a British record transfer fee of £125 million from Newcastle, but in his debut campaign with the Reds he struggled and going into season two, the pressure is on him to start living up to the blockbuster price tag.

But Firmino has confidence that Isak will succeed at Liverpool and credits the fans as one of the reasons why:

“Alex has to stay positive. All strikers go through difficult periods, but he’s already proved in previous years that he’s one of the best in the Premier League.

There’s always pressure when you play for a club as big as Liverpool, especially when they pay a lot of money to sign you, but he just needs to relax, and I’m sure the goals will come.

You can’t judge him on last season, because he had injuries and missed so many games. It was a tough season for the club in general. But this is a new start with a new manager, and I’m sure he will grow in confidence as he gets more used to the players around him and gets more chances.

There is no better place to be a No 9, scoring goals and helping the team win games. Anfield is special, and as long as you always give everything for Liverpool, then the fans will stay right behind you. I believe in him.”

Roberto Firmino on a Possible Return to Anfield in the Future

As Bobby Firmino is closing in on the end of his career, he has commented on the idea of returning to Anfield, possibly in one of the Liverpool legend games:

“I will definitely return at some point, it’s such a special place. I’d love to come back and play for the Liverpool Legends in one of those charity games. If they call me, I will be there.”

But, according to Firmino himself, he has no intentions of ending his professional playing career any time soon and he could be playing football into his 40's:

“I want to keep playing for as long as I can. As long as I can stay healthy and can still contribute at a good level, I will keep going. Why not play for another four or five years? Until I’m 40? Yeah maybe. Let’s see what God’s plan is.”
