Liverpool’s search for their next attacking star may already be gathering pace, with Bournemouth’s Brazilian forward Rayan emerging as a serious name on the club’s radar.

Reports linking the Reds with the 20-year-old have intensified this week, with ESPN Brasil journalist Bruno Andrade reporting that Liverpool’s interest is genuine after speaking to sources close to both the player and Bournemouth. However, there has been no formal approach from Liverpool at this stage. 

And Liverpool are far from alone. Andrade claims several major European clubs, particularly from the Premier League, have been making enquiries with Rayan’s representatives.

Bournemouth are aware of the growing interest and, with the Brazilian tied down until June 2031, are in no hurry to sell. 

The numbers being discussed underline just how difficult any deal could become. Rayan reportedly has a £130million release clause which becomes active next summer, and Bournemouth’s current position is that they will not offer interested clubs a discount. 

It is an extraordinary valuation, but Rayan’s development explains why Europe’s biggest clubs are watching.

Bournemouth signed the left-footed attacker from Vasco da Gama in January 2026 after a breakout spell in Brazil. Across his league career for Vasco, he registered 19 goals in 74 appearances, including 14 during the 2025 Brazilian Série A campaign. 

His adaptation to England was impressively quick. Rayan scored five goals and provided two assists in 15 Premier League appearances during his first half-season on the south coast. Overall, he now has five goals and two assists from 19 Premier League appearances. 

The 2026/27 campaign has started more quietly statistically. Rayan has started Bournemouth’s opening four league games, playing 350 minutes without a goal or assist, although he did score after coming off the bench in their 4-0 League Cup victory over Lincoln City. 

From a Liverpool perspective, the attraction isn’t difficult to understand. Rayan is naturally left-footed, primarily operates from the right and, at just 20, still has enormous room to develop.

There is also an obvious connection: current Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola previously coached Rayan at Bournemouth, meaning the Reds’ manager already knows precisely what the Brazilian can offer. 

For now, this remains interest rather than a negotiation. But with clubs already positioning themselves months before the market properly moves, Rayan is rapidly becoming one of the names to watch heading towards 2027.
