 Known for the heart-stopping landings of planes that pass just a few meters from bathers.

Located on the island of Saint Martin, a Caribbean island divided between French and Dutch rule.

Maho beach, which is next to the airport, became a place of special tourist interest because the planes that land in Princesa Juliana do so just a few meters from the tourists' umbrellas and sun loungers.

I think it would be very scary to be on that beach and see a plane passing over me.
