Saqlain Mushtaq calls for long-term vision in captaincy decisions

Aug 3, 2024 8:10 AM

Hello everyone how are you I hope all is well ❤️‍🩹.

Today I am talking about former cricketer Saqlain Mushtaq who expressed his views about Babar Azam's captaincy. While giving an interview to the channel, he shed light on the misunderstandings among the team members and about the appointment and retention of the captain.

He said that many people are saying that Babar Azam should play only as a regular player. All these sounds are coming from outside. We should try to control all the voices and we should not give importance to all those voices. Insiders who observe all the situations know what is really going on and decide who will be good to captain the team. There is no long-term strategy. We don't seem to need a vision  he added. Tomorrow there is one captain, the next day another. He used the example of Shaheen Shah to explain the situation of short-term captaincy.

For example, Shaheen was appointed captain for a short period but was dropped due to poor performance. And then Babar was appointed as the captain, if he is removed now, someone else will come for the next tournament and if this continues, there can be no progress in the Pakistan cricket team.

        My opinion

I think he is right because not every change in Pakistan team is really going well .When one person is playing well, they are replaced by another person who does not know how to control the situation. I think he is right, outsiders cannot predict what is going on inside.A person should be given a chance to captain first. I am not saying that Babar is a good captain but he knows how to lead the team.
