In all India earned their ground in the Women Asia Cup 2024 for the very last time defeating Bangladesh with a hard fought 10-wicket win This was India's 9th appearance in the final where they showed their dominance within the match.

Opting to bat first the Indian bowlers put on a genius display leaving Bangladesh with a meager total of 85 runs. Poonam Yadav and Rajeshwari Gaikwad were outstanding bowlers claiming 3 wickets each to tear apart the Bangladeshi batting line up.

In reply, Indian openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma put on a batting masterclass. Mandhana with his splendid deliveries and Shafali with his competitive style chased down the target with ease The target was reached in just 12.3 overs and went on to lose in 48 and 35 overs respectively.

As a fan of Indian women’s cricket, the game turned out to be quite unremarkable. The partnership between Mandhana and Shafali was a joy to watch and the bowling attack turned relentless. India’s repeated performances in the Asia Cup are a testament to their talent and determination. Looking forward to seeing the trophy raised again!
