Happy Hallowe'en FCN

It's All Hallow's Eve! Many mistake Hallowe'en as a pagan holiday because of the modern day associations with horror evil and spirits. But actually it is an old Christian celebration beginning tonight with a feast, and tomorrow celebrations in memory of the dead. It is actually more similar to the Mexican Day of the Dead which is celebrated around the same time. The only real difference being that for Mexico the celebration is much more a joyful and colourful celebration of the lives of the dead, but for the Christian tradition is was always steeped in darkness and grief over their death. I guess this is why it has become more associated with horror in time in the West.
Anyway, I wanted to join the Hallowe'en competition, with a post about what I would change not just in 1 horror movie, but in the genre as a whole. Some of you know I have a big interest in gender and feminism, and it always leads me to question these sorts of roles in all aspects of life. I think sometimes movie makers stick to gender norms and miss an opportunity to really make some horrible sick shit with movies 😅
Now it wouldn't work too well with some, like Hocus Pocus with some male witches is maybe a vibe for 2023 🙄😝 but it doesn't do it for me.

But some other movies could swap the gender roles and have some success.
Maybe you can imagine The Ring with a little boy instead of a little girl?

Or maybe you can imagine The Shining but instead of Jack, the father losing his sanity and hunting his family, I would love to see a female, the mother has lost her mind and is chasing her husband and children. Do you think it would work?

Or maybe you want to go another level of fucked up like me.. I want to see Freddy Kreuger with a female. You see when we flip the gender stereotype, and have a woman sexually abusing or murdering children, it becomes even more horrible. Make her a mom, a teacher or a daycare owner, and make it a really disgusting narrative. Now Fredi is even more terrifying when she comes for you in your dreams.

What do you think? What other horror films would you like to see with a reversed gender role?
And now to remove your trauma, enjoy some cute pumpkins from my house 🤭
