Real Madrid's recent transfer policy seems to blend bringing in experienced superstars with extremely talented youngsters predicted to make it big in the near future.
The signing of Trent Alexander-Arnold alongside the likes of Alvaro Carreras, Dean Huijsen, and Franco Mastantuono shows the mindset of the Los Blancos management regarding their squad development, but of course, for a teenager to come into a big club like Real is always a tough task.
Regardless of his age, a player included in Real Madrid's first team is always put under pressure by the fans and the media alike, and also, you are expected to perform at the highest level in order to be given minutes at the Bernabeu.
Although Los Blancos has been pretty careful about nurturing youngsters in the recent past, as players like Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo were gradually injected into the first team after spending their initial periods at Madrid with the club's B team, Castilla.
That hasn't been the case for Endrick, who was brought in from Palmeiras in the summer of 2024 after the two clubs had agreed on the player in 2022.
The Brazilian was introduced to first-team football upon reaching Madrid, where he already looked at home, making 22 La Liga appearances during the 2024-25 season.
With the advent of Xabi Alonso at the picture completely changed for the 19-year-old as he only played a total of 11 minutes under the Spanish manager, who, of course, was relieved of his duties in January, after the Brazilian was loaned out to Lyon during the winter.
Endrick recently shared his experience at Real Madrid till now in an interview with WinWin (h/t Football Espana), saying, "It is difficult for anyone to play for Real Madrid, young or old. They are always looking for new talent, and the fans want to see them as soon as possible, but it is not always possible."
The player was also asked about Los Meringues' new head coach, Alvaro Arbeloa, to which he replied, "We haven’t spoken yet. I’m focused on Lyon. I’m going to cheer for Real Madrid in the Champions League."
The Brazilian forward has done relatively well so far with the French club, having already scored three times and provided three assists in Ligue 1 in eight appearances.
If everything goes according to plan, Endrick would likely return to the Spanish capital and look to cement his position at Los Blancos, as the teenager definitely has the talent to succeed at the Santiago Bernabeu, but whether he would be able to handle the pressure of putting on the Royal White shirt remains to be seen.
