The principle of emotional intelligence is very simple and relies on applying intelligence to emotions. To handle any subject correctly, we must understand it thoroughly. We cannot effectively manage our emotions if we do not understand them. God created emotions within us for a specific purpose: to protect us from dangers, preserve our existence, and enhance this existence.

For example, the function of anxiety is to push us to find solutions when we encounter problems. The function of fear is to keep us away from dangers. Love drives us to sacrifice for those we care about. Similarly, the role of anger is to compel us to defend our rights when we are wronged, and so on.
An emotionally intelligent person is someone who neither ignores nor suppresses their emotions but rather understands and deals with them positively and creatively. Ignoring emotions is like turning off a fire alarm when a fire breaks out in the house instead of moving to put out the fire. Suppressing emotions leads to increased stress and tension, which negatively affects our mental and physical health.
