Today is the anniversary of the liberation of Bucha.
A year ago, the whole world saw the scenes of horror that the Russians left behind. It was a watershed moment of realisation that Russia was not just waging a brutal invasion, but also committing genocide against Ukrainians.
The city lived under occupation for 33 days. During this time, the Russians killed and brutally tortured more than 420 civilians and damaged more than 2500 buildings.
Thanks to our defenders Bucha survived. Today the blue and yellow flag flies over the city.
These heinous crimes must not be forgotten by the world. The victims must be remembered.
Eternal memory to those who died. We will always remember them🕯️

Ukraine Uncensored NetworkUkraine has a “very good chance” at launching a successful counteroffensive during the spring, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said, speaking at the Senate Armed Services Committee hearings on Tuesday, March 28. He added that due to the significant depletion of Russian forces and new Western weapons supplies to Kyiv, he remains quite optimistic regarding the upcoming perspective on the battlefield.
“The Ukrainians have inflicted significant losses on the Russians and depleted their armored vehicles in a way no one could have imagined. And now we see Russia decommissioning T-54 and T-55 tanks because of the level of losses that the Ukrainians inflicted upon them,” the Pentagon chief stressed.
According to Austin, right now Ukraine desperately needs air defense, long-range weapons, and armored vehicles. Meanwhile, fighter jets, which Kyiv constantly is constantly requesting, “won't help Ukrainians” at this stage of the war.
“Right now, the main need of the Ukrainians is air defense. This is a critical need on the battlefield. They also need long-range weapons and armored vehicles,” Austin said, noting that the US is providing a significant package of such capabilities, including training and guaranteed provision of the supplied weapons.Mar 29, 2023
Ukraine Uncensored NetworkArmed police inspected vehicles entering and leaving the Pechersk-Lavra monastery complex on Wednesday, the deadline for those remaining loyal to Moscow to pack up and leave the holy site. In the meantime, a couple of hundred worshippers had gathered for a service there on a cold, wet, and snowy day in Kyiv.
The representatives of the Moscow Patriarchate did not evacuate today, as they continue to assert their right to remain there, pending judicial process. Their supporters were vocal in their protests at the Lavra on Wednesday, shouting angrily at journalists and decrying what they saw as religious oppression. Some said they were ready to die for the church.
The Lavra, also known as the Monastery of the Caves, has been home to approximately 1,000 followers of Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, long considered by many Ukrainians as a fifth column of the Kremlin. The massive monastery complex is also full of precious religious artifacts and relics. The police inspections are mostly targeted at safeguarding those priceless icons, paintings, crucifixes, etc. to ensure that they are not removed from the government-owned site.
When asked why the check of vehicles coming and going from the church was being conducted in such a hands-off manner, one of the officers, speaking on condition of anonymity told Kyiv Post: “Some of us have our own ideas of how things should be done.”Mar 29, 2023

Ukraine Uncensored NetworkSince the beginning of the year, a corruption scandal in the Ministry of Defense has been raging in the space. The publication of articles, by the investigative journalist Yuriy Nikolov, led to the dismissal of senior officials and the start of anti-corruption investigations. He managed to obtain a copy of one of the contracts worth more than UAH 13 billion, for food supplied to the Ukrainian army, between a private company and the Ministry of Defense. It was only one of 8 contracts for food that the Ministry of Defense signed in December 2022 for the whole of 2023.
In an exclusive interview with KyivPost, Nikolov explained that his source had links to the military and was one of the first to see this contract which was signed at the end of December and came into force in February.
"After the holidays, my source received it, looked at it and saw the numbers involved. He handed me a copy with the words: "Look at the food prices in the contract, and then at the contract volume."
I printed out the prices in the contract which include potatoes for UAH 22, eggs for UAH 17 and cabbage for UAH 30. I took a copy of the contracts with me to the nearest Varus store and began to compare prices. I soon realized they the contract prices were three times more expensive than the same products in the store; UAH 22 for potatoes compared with seven in the store.Mar 28, 2023

Ukraine Uncensored NetworkLithuania suffered under Soviet occupation for over 50 years. During this period Lithuania, like Ukraine today and in the past, did not give-in easily to Moscow's whims. Lithuanians continued their fight against Russia's occupation, via the "Forest Brothers," who waged guerrilla warfare against the communist state from 1944 until 1956.
The popular desire to see a free Ukraine is evidenced when roaming the streets of Vilnius, where Ukrainian flags are nearly as prevalent as they are in Kyiv, and also in solid, citizen-led actions to support Ukraine.
Though the average salary in Lithuania is around $1700 per month, this past summer, Lithuania made headlines when it crowd-sourced almost $6 million, within only three days, to purchase a Turkish Bayraktar drone for the Ukrainian military.
The fundraising, by ordinary citizens, did not stop there. They raised further funds to enable the purchase of three naval drones by year end.
Earlier this month, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Health met with representatives of a Lithuania furniture manufacturer, DUV Limited. The fifteen year-old company produces collapsible, plywood furniture that can be readily transported and reassembled in minutes without the need for tools. These have proved indispensable with hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians mobilized or forced to sleep in bomb shelters.
The corporation donated tens of thousands of dollars of their mobile beds to Ukraine. Earlier donations, which were donated with mattresses, can currently be found in some of the bomb shelters of Ukraine. It is anticipated that future donations will be used in battlefield hospitals and provide a place to sleep for the police and internally displaced persons.
Mykhailo Radutskyi, who heads the Parliamentary Committee thanked not only the company, whom he referred to as "our loyal Lithuanian friends," but also the support of Vilnius' Ambassador in Kyiv, Valdermaras Sarapinas, who had been instrumental in organizing this large donation of essential supplies.Mar 23, 2023

Ukraine Uncensored NetworkIn an exclusive interview with the Kyiv Post, the head of the Servant of the People party, Olena Shuliak, talked about how the war has changed the organization and work of the political party, whether the president and founder of the party Volodymyr Zelensky is helping, and whether the parliament will support the draft law on the registration of same-sex relationships.
After the appointment of the National Anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) director, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that Ukraine had fulfilled all the requirements for EU candidacy.
However, there is one more requirement – the reform of the Constitutional Court – waiting to be fulfilled.
According to the latest information, Ukraine’s international partners were not satisfied with the adopted law and proposed including seven independent members in the commission for the selection of judges.
At what stage is the work now?
The reform of the Constitutional Court was defined as number one among the requirements that Ukraine needed to meet for our European future.
We have adopted the relevant legislation and rebooted the High Council of Justice. But, we still have certain obligations regarding the relaunch of the High Qualification Commission of Judges. That hasn’t been done yet.
However, the parliament has completed all its other work, for example, today it fulfilled its obligations under the anti-corruption reform plan.Mar 23, 2023
