Ukraine’s mine-contaminated area is 4.5 times larger than Switzerland - Maasikas

The importance of the European Union's humanitarian mine action support to Ukraine continues to grow, as Ukraine’s explosive contaminated territory is 4.5 times the size of Switzerland.

This is stated in a video message by the Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Matti Maasikas, Ukrinform reports.

“We will continue helping with surveying, clearance and mine risk education. We will provide equipment together with our member states. But as in all matters of recovery Ukraine's leadership is key,“ Maasikas said.
