Zelenskyy to visit Poland this week

Volodymyr Zelenskyy is set to travel to Poland on Wednesday to meet with the country's president Andrzej Duda.

Marcin Przydacz, foreign affairs adviser to Mr Duda, said the visit is taking place at his invitation.

"There will be long, broad talks, not only about the security situation, but also about economic and political support", Mr Przydacz told Polish radio station RMF.

"It will be an official visit."

He added that the Ukrainian president would meet with Polish and Ukrainian people who have taken refuge in the country at Castle Square in Warsaw.

Mr Zelenskyy last met with his Polish counterpart in December, during his trip back from the US.

Poland and Ukraine are neighbours and have deep historical ties.

More than 1m Ukrainians fled from their country to Poland after Russia's invasion last year.
