It's no secret that Dak Prescott wants Javonte Williams around beyond 2025.

The Dallas Cowboys' decision to sign running back Javonte Williams in the offseason looks to be one shrewd piece of business from the front office.

Finally having a decent run game with Williams - who is having a superb season by any metric - has been a key component to Dallas' offensive success. ...

Especially considering the naysayers who disliked the move in the offseason, with Javonte's injury history while in Denver being the main reason many weren't pleased with the move.

But in the Cowboys' loss to the Detroit Lions, Williams surpassed 1,000 rushing yards, the first time in his career, while also scoring his ninth rushing touchdown of the season in the process.

For a player who many were convinced had run his race as a starter, what Williams is doing for the Cowboys this year is good for the soul.

And Dak Prescott wants Javonte at The Star beyond 2025.

"Love him, proud of him as a teammate,” Prescott said. Proud of his response and resilience from just the injury and coming to a new team, just the way that he stepped up and had a hell of a year. As important as his success on the field, just the teammate he is and the guy that he is in meetings in the locker room, we're fortunate as hell to have him, and hopefully we can keep him.”

Williams has been one of the most consistent offensive pieces for Brian Schottenheimer this season, and already with career highs in touchdowns and yards, the next four games are a chance for Javonte to really ram home his good form.

With an expected contract coming somewhere next year, every good game only puts his price up, and we know that the Cowboys don't exactly like to pay running backs big money after Ezekiel Elliott's deal bit them.

Indeed, here, Javonte is making just $3 million for 2025.

So when someone says, "Pay the Man!''? Well, the question is "How Much?''

Still, for now, there's no denying that if the price can be made right, Williams deserves to stay with the Cowboys beyond 2025, and we know that his future will be a big talking point next season.

Dak wants him to stay, and we'd imagine most of Cowboys Nation does, too - again, at the right price.
