Gurbir Grewal, the U.S. SEC's director of enforcement, will step down on October 11, with his deputy, Sanjay Wadhwa, taking over as acting director. During Grewal's three-year tenure, the SEC authorized over 2,400 enforcement actions, resulting in more than $20 billion in disgorgements and penalties, and awarded over $1 billion to whistleblowers. His leadership was particularly noted for its focus on the crypto industry, with over 100 enforcement actions targeting noncompliance, including major trading platforms. Source: Coindesk
