VanEck has launched VanEck Ventures, a new venture capital fund with $30 million in assets under management, focused on investing in fintech, digital asset, and artificial intelligence companies at the pre-seed or seed stages. Led by Wyatt Lonergan and Juan Lopez, the fund aims to invest between $500,000 and $1 million in 25-30 projects that offer strategic and financial upside, having already backed four initiatives. CEO Jan van Eck highlighted the firm’s long-term investment philosophy, which now extends to early-stage ventures, particularly those building application-layer solutions, such as tokenized assets and stablecoin applications. VanEck is also planning to increase its crypto allocation from the current 1% to 15% of its total assets under management. Source: Coindesk
