Yesterday, The Open Network (TON) blockchain experienced an outage that halted block production for several hours due to abnormal network congestion caused by the airdrop of Dogs (DOGS), a new memecoin on the platform. The TON Foundation resolved the issue, and block production resumed normally. The congestion occurred as millions of users rushed to claim DOGS tokens, leading to a peak of over 67,000 transactions per second. Despite the disruption, the TON Foundation assured users that no assets were lost, and measures were taken to stabilize the network during the high activity.  Block production is experiencing further disruption again today. The team said the disruption appears again to be due to heavy load attributed to DOGS minting. They are working on a solution. Source: Cointelegraph
