The collection is a nod to the time Osbourne bit the head off a bat during a show in Des Moines, Iowa in 1982. There will be 9,666 different NFTs that will launch sometime in January.
The Crypto Batz collection is being done in collaboration with Sutter Systems, a little-known NFT studio founded by anonymous individuals called "Jepeggi" and "Gelbstein," also known as "Batstein," in the projects Discord server.

The collection's website gives a list of other NFT projects that collectors' Bats could "bite," including Bored Ape Yacht Club, SupDucks and others, signaling that it aims to have a larger community with more valuable NFTs than those famous projects.
Osbourne told Rolling Stone that he had been attempting to get involved in NFTs for some time and that he had asked his wife Sharon for a Bored Ape for Christmas after several failed attempts to get one himself. For that reason, he decided he would create his own.
"I've been trying to get in on the NFT action for a while so when I asked Sharon for a Bored Ape for Christmas after several failed attempts of buying my own, and she said no, so I decided to create my own," said Ozzy.
Osbourne said that the new CryptoBatz project pays tribute to one of his most iconic on-stage moments and that NFT fans and his fans will love it.
“CryptoBatz is a fucking mental project for NFT collectors and fans. The design pays tribute to one of my most iconic on-stage moments and is a chance to acquire a rare piece of art history. I love it!”
