Are market catastrophes inevitable? And how should we view them?
The Roundtable: Crashes and CyclesA group of experts joined Roundtable to discuss the May 2022 crypto crash. In this segment, Adrian Baschuk analyzes the cyclical nature of crypto markets.
"It was a painful correction, but we knew it was coming," says Crypto Banter's Baschuk. "It wasn't a question of if, but when."
"Those who are building in crypto know that between the happenings of the Bitcoin cycle, the market goes up, crashes, stabilizes, maybe has a few flash crashes and Black Swan events like COVID in the last cycle—and then comes back up."
This is not the end of anything, he says, but a constructive interregnum.
"Then we're just building for the next cycle. That's what a lot of crypto projects are doing."
